Hosting

I’ll be hosting the Christian Carnival here at Lux Venit next Wednesday. I want to invite all of you who read this blog, but have never participated in the Carnival, to give it a try this week. It’s a good way to drive some traffic to your site and read some other interesting blogs. The instructions for participating are here.

  1. Hi there, great previous post by the way. “Night” is a difficult read, as it deals with death at every turn. Actually when I was reading it I thought, this is similiar to Anne Frank only from an adults perspective – it is a lot about what he is thinking but obviously the is the harsher reality of the concentration camp too in the book. Although it was hard to read, I was glad I did.

  2. I may check our library to see if they have it. I’m still not sure I’d be able to read about what actually happened in the camps. I can’t watch movies about it, either. I don’t want to deny that it happened or anything like that. Something about it is haunting. It scares me and makes me feel very sick. It is too horrific. Accurate accounts are good and necessary. Most people would agree that that need never happen again. Unfortunately, just as the world ignored what Hitler was doing for too long, this generation is ignoring the fact that the same thing is happening in Darfur and Sudan. (Of course, action/news against those killings may not be correctly reported in the U.S. There may be an international outcry against it that I haven’t heard.) I’m afraid our turning a blind eye to it may be racially motivated, just as the Jewish extermination was racially motivated. Know what I mean?
