Jesus is brighter than the sun

You see the HUGE sphere? That’s the sun–93 million miles away! You see the small speck left of center? That’s the space station–in orbit about 250 miles above earth. See the teeny-tiny speck to the left of the station? That’s our US space shuttle. Pictures like this remind me just how small we are and how beautiful, glorious, strong, and holy our Creator is. As massive as the sun is, there is a God who merely spoke it into existence and holds it in place!!! Yet He is not a God who stands detached from His creation. He is not far off. He drew near to us in Jesus, His son. “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities–all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together…For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell” (Colossians 1:15-17, 19) and “who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has hightly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:6-11) Can you imagine anything brighter than the sun? Yet the New Jerusalem “has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb” (Revelation 21:23).

O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory above the heavens.
When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
what is man that you are mindful of him,
and the son of man that you care for him?
Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings
and crowned him with glory and honor.
O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
Psalm 8:1, 3-5, 9 (ESV)

  5. It is wonderfull!, glory to Lord Jesus Christ! Today in the news, they said that the planet mercury will be passing infront of the sun, to see that event, we will need to be equiped with a special telescop to protect our eyes from being damaged by the sun’s rays, since it is “so bright!”. Than I said to myself, Jesus is brighter than the sun. The apostle saul, on his way to Damascus, so Jesus, shining brighter than the sun, and yet, that happend in bright day light. This encounter with the Morning Star changed his life for the better. Glory to God.
