I have a tendency to lose the paper I write my menu on. Even if I put it on the fridge it will mysteriously disappear. Well, it isn’t likely that I’ll lose my laptop so I’m posting my menu here from now on. This is my first Menu Plan Monday (click it for more meal plans). Maybe next week I’ll attempt to post a recipe for something we’re having. One thing you will notice about our meal plans is that they are very blah. Two out of six people living in my house have serious food allergies. This makes most of our favorite casseroles, oriental and italian dishes fooda non grata, if you know what I mean.
Monday–Grilled pork tenderloin, steamed vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots) and wheat bread
Tuesday–Chicken/vegetable/rice soup
Wednesday–Sandwiches, chips and fruit followed by a desperate attempt to make it to church by 6
Thursday–Whole wheat pizzas; toppings can include: pineapples, tomatoes, onion, ham, italian sausage, olives, mushrooms, cheese; side salad
Friday–Steaks (Publix had a sale!!), steamed whole green beans, and potatoes.
Don’t forget to feast on God’s Word everyday, too:
Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. Matthew 4:4

I loved reading this and the verse at the end made me smile. Your menu doesn’s sound “blah”, it sounds healthy! I have a great recipe for grilled tenderloin if you ever want it, very flavorful. If you’re feeling like your food is lacking something, try adding some herbs and spices. Rosemary goes really well with chicken soup and adds a whole new flavor. And I’ve added basil to green beans that I tossed around in the frying pan with a little olive oil after steaming. You’ve inspired me to actually write down (and thus think about) a meal plan for the week. Far too often I’ looking in my cupboard at 4pm wondering what to make!

Guess what, Wendy? After spending most of December convincing me that I didn’t need one, Karl completely surprised me Christmas morning with a Bosch mixer!!! I’ve been making it myself, but with lots of “knead”ed help. It is so much faster to make bread with a mixer!

Hello and thanks for joining in! I can totally relate. I usually cook two meals a night myself because my son is allergic to dairy, gluten, soy, fish, eggs and nuts. We all ate this way when I went on the diet myself for six months while nursing our youngest who thankfully doesn’t appear to have allergies!!Have a great week!Laura
