Desiring God’s Pastors Conference is going on right now. It ends on Wednesday, but the audio of the main sessions are already up!!! I am not a pastor. I will never be singled out to pastor a church. However, I am a mother. I have been granted stewardship over four of God’s children. It is my responsibility to teach them. I am accountable to God for my activity in shepherding my children. The theme this year is “The Holiness of God.” It is very important for children to understand, as much as they can, that our God is holy! Not just a mental understanding, but much more than that. My desire, first and foremost, is that I be taught and that I grow in holiness. My children will see that! And copy my example as they have everything else they’ve seen me demonstrate for them. This is a staggering thought for me to consider every day! God does not trifle with sin. He sent His only Son to DIE an agonizing death because of it. The nerve of me to not be more diligent and serious in killing sin, more diligent in my striving after greater sanctification and passion for God. I’m starting to ramble…
