Kim tagged me for this meme. I don’t know the name of it. Maybe it’s the “I’ve never” meme.
1. Which dramatic role have I never had?
a. Rumpelstiltskin, title role, 4th grade skit
b. Amaryllis, piano lesson girl in “The Music Man”, 6th grade, community musical
c Fairy in “Dance of the Swan” , 3rd grade ballet
d. Emily in “Our Town,” high school play
All of the above. I’ve never had any of them. I did play the role of “moth killer” in my nursery school program. The stage had bright flood lights all across the front which attracted all manner of flying insects. I took it upon myself to kill them all. SO, in between reciting my poem and the ABCs, I ran all over the place killing moths. It’s OK. I did graduate from college. We can laugh about it now. After that came my role as a cabbage in “The Cabbage Patch Kids.”
Seriously, though, I have always enjoyed drama, but the high schools I attended never put on any plays. I was involved in the drama and debate teams. Those were my creative outlets.
2. On which athletic team did I never compete?
a. softball
b. field hockey
c. tennis
d. swimming
I’ve never competed in field hockey or tennis. My dad did pay for me to have some tennis lessons, but I never competed. I played church league softball in high school. I guess I’ve never actually competed in a real swim meet–just against my brother, friends, and Karl. Yes, even in our “old” age we have this need to race each other in the pool.
3. What kind of lessons have I never taken?
a. piano
b. riding
c. tap dance
d. etiquette
I’ve never taken riding or tap dance lessons. But boy did I want to take dance lessons! Of ALL the lessons my parents did pay for (and I took lots of lessons!), they never let me take dance. So, I taught myself all my sweet moves by watching music videos on Night Trax and other late night video countdowns on the weekends. That is until MTV made its debut. Oh, and how could I forget American Bandstand, Soul Train, Solid Gold, and Dance USA! How I loved me some Solid Gold!
The etiquette class was called, “White Gloves and Party Manners.” We had to wear dresses, white gloves, and pretty hats to every lesson. I learned a lot, but I still have to look at a picture to know how to properly set a table.
4. Which type of vehicle have I never driven?
a. stick shift car
b. dirt bike
c. pickup truck
d. ATV
Believe it not…I’ve driven them all.
5. What is my favorite genre of literature?
a. historical fiction
b. science fiction
c. romantic fiction
d. nonfiction
NONFICTION!! As if you didn’t already know this. Although, I am enjoying Jane Austen these days.
I tag Kelly (party of five) and Loraena.

This is funny to me because what southern girl has not driven all of the above? Or at least been given the opportunity! I’ll get on it!
