Jon Sanders article “Greeting cards for abortion and other rights” is one to read today. Sadly, the story about the post-abortion greeting cards is not a joke. Sanders rightly says, “You might ask how on earth could someone just exercising her right be cause for grief.” Indeed. He then goes on to offer a few suggestions of his own for those greeting cards you may need to send to your friends who are feeling guilty after exercising their rights.
Here’s my favorite: “Roses are red; you say they’re blue. We have free speech; I’m proud of you.”
I think I’ll send one to General Pace.

Liberals want us to believe that abortion is a right, just like free speech is. The problem is that they betray themselves with things like these greeting cards to help assuage the guilt women feel after having an abortion. Why should they feel guilty if they are exercising their rights? he asks. It’s supposed to be absurd. Sanders is showing how ridiculous and flawed their thinking is.

Dear me. Sigh.On a much brighter note, I GOT THE BOOK! And I can’t wait to read it, especially when I saw it was reviewed by Ted Tripp, who wrote one of the best parenting books EVER! Thanks so much, I hope i have time this weekend to read it!

I think it is interesting that there is awareness of grief — the emotional reality of abortions. We grieve over something lost, something of value, something even tragic. While I find the e-cards disturbing, it’s notable that there is the recognition that an abortion is not just a “procedure” like going to the dentist.
