We sang several sweet hymns today during worship, but I want to share The Solid Rock on the blog. Today’s message came from Genesis 14:18-20, Psalm 110, and Hebrews 7:1-10. It is such a blessing and privilege to hear soul-stirring sermons on the excellency and supremacy of Jesus Christ! He is our King of Righteousness. He is the only Priest who makes peace between God and man.
The Solid Rock
by William Bradbury
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name
On Christ the solid Rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand
When darkness seems to hide His face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and story gale
My anchor holds within the veil
On Christ the solid Rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand
His oath, His covenant, his blood
Support me in the whelming flood
When all around my soul gives way
He then is all my hope and stay
On Christ the solid Rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand
When He shall come with trumpet sound
Oh, may I then in Him be found
Dressed in His righteousness alone
Faultless to stand before the throne
On Christ the solid Rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand

This hymn always makes my very heart soar with overwhelming gratitude for the righteousness of Christ! What marvelous worship you partook. Our lesson was on Heb 13:1-6. In the sermon, our pastor went through a summing of how every chapter of Hebrews demonstrates the excelllency of Jesus Christ.
