I’m planning to come back to the blog later today with our homeschool report, but I want to share a couple of other bloggers with you this morning.
If you pay attention to my “In the Spotlight” section on the sidebar, then you’ve already visited Doug E.’s blog, Godward Thoughts. He has recorded a most encouraging vlog for today that he calls, When Pain and Faith Collide. If you’re bearing a heavy burden or facing a difficult trial, this will encourage you.
NBOTB: I “met” a new blogger today. Her name is Angelena and just this week she started writing Whatsoever Is Pure…Think on These Things. I like what she’s written so far: she has already made me think, she’s sharing her preparations to run a half marathon, she loves Jesus, homeschools her kids, and I can hear Watermark when her site comes up.
Speaking of music on blogs, how do you feel about that? Do you love it or hate it when a blogger puts some tunes on their site? Does it make the download slower? Here’s how I feel about it: I don’t mind the music as long as I have the option of turning it off if I don’t want to listen to it. I remember when some sites would include an audio file that would play constantly. Nowadays, the music selection is in a “box” of some kind and I can turn it off. I like that much better. However, I have finished reading Angelena’s blog, but I’m keeping it up as I read my other favorites this morning because I can hear a Watermark song I’ve never heard before. I just don’t have enough Watermark in my iTunes. Anyway, would you hate it if I put a songbox in my sidebar? I’ve thought about it.
Come back later for this week’s homeschool report.

Thanks for the links! I CAN’T listen to music and read at the same time, so I really don’t like it when it comes on while looking at another blog. I wish I were a little more talented in this area!

I don’t really like music on blogs and will click away unless I can turn it off. For some reason, my computer hangs up when I visit some blogs with music and I end up having to shut down and reboot. The ones that allow me to turn it off don’t seem to cause any problems. That hasn’t stopped me from reading the blogs in question but I always read them in a feed reader and never visit the site. Hampers my ability to leave comments. . .

I love the music! I have been seriously thinking of the same thing, but I can’t get the song I want (Shane & Shane- Embracing Accusations) to come up on any of the little doo-hickey players. I have the song on iTunes, but you can’t transfer over. Either way, it doesn’t bother me on other blogs because I can turn it off if I don’t like it. It hasn’t slowed the download for me.Thanks for the links 🙂

Leslie,Well, I suppose you know where I stand on the “blog n’ music” controversy. 🙂 I find it relaxing to hear a worship song as I browse a blog. On the other hand, if it is something loud and abrasive- that could turn me off from it. It was nice to meet you too! Thanks again for writing such nice things about my site… looking forward to gettting to know you!Be blessed in truth,A.

I love music on blogs mostly. I put Sonific Songspot on mine and it has a pause button feature if people don’t want to hear it. I found some really beautiful piano selections to put on there. Here is my address if you wanted to listen to it. http://www.piecesofme-tina.blogspot.com

I love Watermark and I like the option to turn music off. If I had to choose I would say no becauseI can have reading and listening issues too:o) I like to play classical music while I blog or do any work on the computer. Wordless is good for me!I look forward to checking out the new blog and listening to the vlog.

Hi Leslie,I believe this is my first post to your awesome blog!First off, I was so encouraged by that vblog, oh my, what an incredible word. The timing could of not been more perfect for me to hear this. I will be passing this on to a dear friend of mine.As far as music, I love it! I just turn it down as I read, and then many times leave it playing in the background as I’m surfing the net.I just started my blog and would like to know if I can add your site to my list?So nice to meet you!Susan

Maybe it’s because I’m a musician, but if there is a song playing, I’ll be listening to the song and tend to tune out everything else. I often miss parts of conversations because of this….it’s never on purpose though. So music on blogs is kind of a difficulty for me. =) I’ve contemplated putting some on mine – but haven’t ever taken the plunge (yet). And then there is the difficulty of choosing and updating songs…sounds time consuming (at least it would be for me – I’m too picky).Okay, I’ll stop rambling now.
