Just in case you were wondering

Question: What do you do when you’re feeling a little discontent and like you want something new, but know that you really don’t need anything new?

Answer:

  1. You repent of your ungrateful attitude.
  2. You clean your house like a mad woman.
  3. You rearrange all the furniture.
  4. Kiss your husband for moving the really heavy stuff.

Now everything looks new-ish because it’s clean and in a different place.

I’m going to sit in my newly arranged, cozy living room to read Overcoming Sin and Temptation by John Owen in preparation for tomorrow’s Reading Classics Together post. I hope you’ll join me! Not in my living room….here….on the blog….

  1. Blessings on you. I might have that book by Owen at my house in Seattle so once again I’ll be a straggler in my reading of the classics. I finished Ryle and was happy to have read it. I’ll have to read it again I’m sure…

  5. It’s always good to go through your closets and drawers to see how much you really do have…then decide to give some (a lot) of it away to those who could really use it. I just did this last weekend, with the ulterior motive of thinking I could go get something new once I purged. Hmmm, well, I realized that I already had so much more than I need. The Lord helped me feel content and thankful with what I have. No shopping for that new whatever for me…I have all I need in abundance!Lisa P.

Thanks for the reminder. (I would have to kiss my husband for moving all the heavy stuff twice because I’m sure I would change my mind a few times.)
