Scripture Memory Check

This week I worked on memorizing Psalm 103:1-5. You’ll just have to trust me: I am typing without peeking first.

1 Bless the Lord, O my soul! And all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul! And forget not all his benefits,
3 who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit, and crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
5 who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Mistakes? I messed up the punctuation and a word or two. I need to remember that it’s “who,” not “and.”

1 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name!
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits,
3 who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
5 who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Those of you who are doing this with me, how did you do this week? I’m using ESV. If you’re using a different version, how does it differ?

  1. Okay, here’s mine. I’m using the NIV.Praise the Lord, o my soul, with my inmost being, praise His holy name.Praise the Lord, o my soul, and forget not all His benefits. For He forgives all your sins, and heals all your diseases. He redeems your life from the pit, and crowns you with love and compassion. He satisfies your desires with good things, and renews your youth as the eagle’s.All right. I missed the “who” part too–who forgives…, who redeems…, who satisfies…and the last verse should be “so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”I’m enjoying this challenge. Thanks. Are verses 6-12 the goal for next week?

  2. I’m just doing one verse per day, so it will be 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 for me.

  3. I just got the FUSE CD by Zach Jones (available through Sovereign Grace Music). We were listening to it tonight while we ate dinner and this really beautiful song came on to the words of Psalm 103. Have you heard it?
