and give me a ring! I’m playing around with this new feature called Grand Central from Google.
You enter your phone number, the service calls you, you pick up the phone, listen to my greeting, and leave me a message. And it’s free.
Maybe one day I’ll have the calls forwarded to my actual phone, but today is not that day. I am too busy to talk for a long time on the phone. Well, it’s not that I don’t take time to talk on the phone; it’s the fact that my kids have some kind of innate sense of knowing when I’m on the phone and would like for them to be quiet. So, the reality is that it’s almost impossible for me to have a good conversation. Plus, the world is round and there are lots of time zones, and I don’t want a phone to ring in the middle of the night.
Who wants to be first?! Come on, this will be fun!

When you click on the blue “call me” button, it flips around to show where you put your information. You enter your phone number and then grand central calls you. When you answer your phone you will hear my message and you can leave me a message. I’ve already tried it and left myself a message. *stupid grin*

As far as it knowing to connect you with my number, I guess it’s in the html. It’s cool. When I registered I picked my own internet phone number.

You can set it up a couple of different ways. Right now, my account is set up to go straight to voicemail so that my phone doesn’t ring. I think I may change it so folks can call me this weekend.
