LitLovers–First book choice

I gave each book one vote from those of you who are like me and couldn’t vote for just one.

The Excellent Wife received 12 votes.

Women’s Ministry in the Local Church received eight votes.

Praying received nine votes.

So, The Excellent Wife it is!

You do not have to purchase it to benefit from the book, but I would like you to know that a study guide is available for this book.

Get it at Westminster Book Store (they do not carry the study guide):

Or Amazon:

We need to wait a couple of weeks to start so that we give everyone enough time to get the book and read the first chapter. Two weeks from today will be March 17, which is the week leading up to Easter. I’d rather start after Easter. So, our first posting for The Excellent Wife will be Friday, March 28. I’ll post my thoughts here, along with a discussion question or two (if you need one to get your thoughts flowing). You are welcome to leave your thoughts in the comments section and/or links to your blogs with the “links to this post” button. Of course, you are not obligated to write anything to participate.

I am so excited that there will be so many of us reading together and encouraging one another to be excellent wives.

  5. Hey Leslie! I admit I was reluctant to join Litlovers because I wasn’t sure I could make another commitment right now. I have trouble keeping up with what I am already committed to and my own blogging is getting more and more sparse. HOWEVER, I really would like to do this book, so I am going to try to participate at least for this round. I think the accountability would be good as well as having a forum to discuss it. Thank you for organizing this!

  9. Well, seeing as I’ve been using this book to lead the young mom’s bible study at church, I should be able to follow along!

  10. I may have that book in my attic, or I’ve donated to our church library. I’ll look and see, because I REALLY want to participate (I’m on a book fast…no purchases this year…so I’m praying I’ll find it!)

  11. Leslie,I would like to join in too. I have read Feminine Appeal by Carolyn Mahaney and really loved her book so I’m interested in seeing if this book would be a good follow up to that book. My husband is almost finished reading through the Exemplary Husband with a group of men. It’s the compliment to Excellent Wife.Mitzi
