The challenge to love in deed

Hall and Moore were plugging a new book, What Difference Do It Make? (WDDIM). The new book covers what their lives have been like since the success of SKODAM. Their stories made me laugh. More than anything else, though, I marveled over how two very different men could become such close friends. I decided I had to make the trip to Birmingham to buy the books and meet the authors.

Lost 6.05 – The Lighthouse

WHEW! I enjoyed this episode so much. They’ve been promising us some answers and this is the first time I feel like I’ve gotten some. Of course, I have a few more questions, too.

Sometimes a girl just needs to cry

he started to pout and grumble a little bit. I asked her to check her attitude before we had to do some discipline. A few minutes later she was in full-on fit mode: obstinate, fussy, kicking her feet under the table. Then she started to scream and cry — a rather fake cry, if you ask me. Not having any idea what triggered this outburst, and not getting any answer from her about it, I asked her to go stand in the corner.

Naive and judgmental, cont’d

But the example that these Christians are setting for me is to give and not ask for an explanation, to prefer being taken advantage of, to give til it hurts, to trust God to do what pleases Him in their lives. Christ’s command is to feed the hungry. Not fix them before I feed them.
