A few days ago, the kids and I went for a short walk around the neighborhood. I want to show you my favorite tree.

I love the mix of colors on one tree. One branch has leaves of green, yellow, orange, and red.

So beautiful!

My next favorite has some purple in its genes.

Perhaps if I’d gone out a little earlier in the day I could have snapped a better picture. This one just doesn’t do justice to the tree. It’s too late to capture now, though, because all of its leaves are orange today.

Look at the red coming through this one’s leaves:

Eventually, they will let go of their trees. They will fall. Homeowners will rake them up and burn them or bag them like garbage.

But today they are nature’s gems.
