Christmas Pictures, Part 1

I mentioned in a previous post that we usually try to get a picture of the kids in our Christmas card. There have been some years that we could not include a picture. Kim has requested a peek at the discarded pictures. So, I thought it might be fun to show our Christmas pictures through the years, including the ones we didn’t use.

This picture is from 1999, our first year with a little one. This is Hannah. She is about 9 months old in this picture. She wasn’t feeling well on this day, but, because I had made a reservation weeks in advance, we had to show up. This was also her first experience in a photographer’s studio. It took her a little while to warm up, but she did well. You can tell she is a little wary of the whole thing by her raised eyebrows and only halfway sitting in the chair. There aren’t any bad ones from this year because I didn’t buy them.

You’ll notice as I post more pictures that my kids didn’t grow much hair until they were about 2.

  1. Awww, how cute, what a great idea, I can’t wait to see the other pictures too. That is a great tradition which we don’t have (Christmas photos/cards), it is good to learn from other cultures.

  2. What a cutie! You’ve reminded me that we usually try to get a family picture each year to include in our Christmas letters. Guess I better get organised!

  3. In some ways it seems like a lifetime, but in others it seems like yesterday. When I sat down to think about that picture, I was surprised at how easy it was to remember that day. Well, not the whole day…just the trip to Olan Mills…that’s why I keep a journal.
