  4. Classic picture. Don’t you hate what they’ve done to the bottom of the cans, though? It took my poor sister and I way too much extra time looking for something to pierce the bottom to relieve the vacuum so the jelly would slide onto dish. I thought of you as we drove through B’ham (the prettiest little city in Alabam). Thursday was the travel day to Montgomery (which we call “the gumph”). I had to pull over on I-65 so my 11 year old daughter, Laura, could take a picture of Vulcan. She was so proud to finally have a picture. Guess one of these days we’ll have to slow down long enough to take her to the mountain and let her see it up close. Hopefully before she gets so old she just doesn’t care. Oooh! I better hurry,,,the disgusting teen years are visible.

  6. We had a great Thanksgiving.Renee–yeah, I noticed that about the cans, but didn’t have any trouble, as you can see. My Hubs grew up around that area and somewhat affectionately calls Montgomery, “Monkey-town.” So, now the kids and I do, too. You should definitely take Laura to Vulcan. You know, you can go inside to the observation deck of Vulcan and see all of B’ham!
