I spent some time last night researching Ginger Plowman, the author of Heaven at Home (my book choice for this month). Here’s the back cover bio:
“Ginger Plowman, author of Don’t Make Me Count to Three, is the founder of Preparing the Way Ministries for which she speaks at women’s events, parenting conferences, and home school conventions across the country. Ginger lives in Opelika, Alabama, with her husband, Jim, where she home schools their children, Wesley and Alex.”
Preparing the Way Ministries website gives much more detail about her and the ministry she provides for women.
I also found some encouraging articles written by Mrs. Plowman. Baptist Press News offers links to all of the articles she has written for them. I didn’t read all of them–there are 16!. I did, however, read the ones below. I really enjoyed reading them. I think you will, too.
- The High Calling of Motherhood is one all moms will appreciate!
- Anger in Children Just yesterday morning Benjamin and I had a long talk about anger and the right way to deal with it. It was a big help to him for me to confess (again!) my own failings and need for Jesus’ help.
- Shaky Landings This is a humorous look at the importance of trusting God.
- What Lies Beneath is a practical look at getting to the heart of your child’s behavior.
- The Name on the Card tackles abortion and redemption through Christ.
- I Was Blind but Now I See…Through the Eyes of Another Ginger shares an experience in which she learned a little more about the relationship between forgiveness and worship.
I’ve never heard her speak, but she is a very talented gifted writer. I am looking forward to diving into this book.

I have read “Don’t Make Me Count to Three” and when I ordered it they threw in the “Wise Words for Mom” chart. It is very helpful. I just bought “Heaven at Home” and started reading it. It will be fun to be reading a book as you blog about it!I agree she is a very gifted writer, but did you see- Ted Tripp make her write the book over THREE times before publication!

Christina–Yeah, and I’ve already found a few places that I think could use a good re-working or refining. Maybe I’m being too picky.
