This year marks the 20th anniversary of the release of The Princess Bride. This movie is a family favorite! I thought you guys (family reading my blog) might enjoy seeing what the actors are up to these days…
In the News:
My word for the day is fructuous. It means fruitful, productive. As in, postings may be scarce here so that I will have a more fructuous week. We are starting back to “school” again today. My goal right now is to start small and build up to full school day by mid-late August. This will be the first year all four of my children will be considered “in school.”
I recently finished reading a good homeschooling resource called Homeschooling More Than One Child by Carren Joye. I’m planning to write about the tips I found most helpful. Organizing and scheduling work for four different people is not the easiest task.
I hope you have a blessed, fructuous day!!

what a wonderful word!!! :)I too need to be very fructuous but instead I often find myself plorking (“play-work”–my mom’s made up word to describe not really playing and not really working).I guess I was only 9 when the Princess Bride came out then . . . and some of those scenes really scared me–when they were sucking the juice/life out of his body. So, even to this day, the mention of that movie makes my stomach turn and think “nope not for me.” :)Well, hope you are truly able to be very fructuous today and the rest of this week!!!!

“What about the R O U S’s? Rodents of Unusual Size? I don’t believe they exist”. Now after that quote I am going forth to be fructuous!

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

I loved the Princess Bride! “Life is pain, Highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something.”I am looking forward to your post about this book. Starting school at home for the first time, when *home* has never been school will present challenges….but Samuel. Samuel is going to be my greatest challenge because it has been only he and I here while the girls were away. Trying to figure out how to keep him busy while working with them will prove challenging. His attention span is about 42 seconds long….on a good day :)Blessings Leslie!

Thanks for the Princess Bride update. I enjoyed reading it. I like the show “Criminal Minds” and was really surprised that the main character Gabriel is played by Inigo! I didn’t recognise him at all as that character from so long ago. I don’t have PB on DVD or video so I guess I should look for a copy for my dd. She hasn’t seen it and I know she would like it.

I LOVE the Princess Bride. ALso one of my all-time favourites!I let my kids watch it, but not the scene that amanda describes. They are scared of that one, and so am I ! :-)And as for school, I still have only 3 in, Belle will start next year when she’s five. Well, this year I’ll be doing a few things, like letters, numbers, etc, but nothing too strenuous.

Leslie, I will love to hear your tips. Just today I was thinking of blogging for help in some productive ideas on homeschooling more than one curriculum–the timing, the checking of work, etc. Can’t wait for your post.

Oh please write about your tips and what you learned from that book. I am adding it to my Amazon cart now. Just got back from vacation – and reading a lot of books on Classical education as I make the major shift to teaching that way with all 4. I am soooo nervous! Teaching 4!! YIKES!!
