Well, there’s a difference, you know, tween having faith and playin’ make believe…
(There is supposed to be a YouTube video here of Rich Mullins performing “Screendoor” with a bunch of plastic cups, but YouTube seems to be having troubles today. Sorry.)

We have one of Rich Mullin’s concerts on DVD and we watch that one over and over.Hard to believe he’s been gone so long, isn’t it? Our son, John, saw him in concert just a few days before he died. He made quite an impression on him.

I got to see him once, too, but it was a couple of years before his death. He knocked a major hole in what I thought Christianity was all about. He’s the only performer I’ve seen barefooted on stage. I was a junior in high school (I think). I think I was either a sophomore or junior in college at the time of his death. I heard the announcement of his death on the radio one morning on my way to work. I remember that the mother I worked for had never even heard of him. I said, “You don’t ever sing “Awesome God” or “Sometimes by Step” with your church?” I had a hard time finding someone with whom I could commiserate. It IS hard to believe he’s been gone this long.

I used to do this cup thing or something very similar all the time! I had totally forgotten about it.

Loraena–we did the cup thing in youth group, too! I was wondering if anyone else would recognize it.
