Monday–The company for which my husband works owns a house that they use for out-of-town guests. They are allowing us to use it while the main problem in our home is being repaired. This is so much better because we can stay together and because Benjamin will not have to go to work with his dad. Even though he enjoyed spending last week at the office with Karl, I think it got a little frustrating for him. There was only so much he could do…after he completed his schoolwork, of course.
This house has t.v. So, the men folk have been watching football every night. Fun!
Tuesday–We took a field trip to the Anniston Natural History Museum to see a replica of Sue the T-Rex, who actually “lives” in the Chicago Museum of Natural History. It’s a nice museum with lots to see. The kids enjoyed all of the hands-on exhibits.
Wednesday–I think today may have been our first “normal” day in a couple of weeks. We did school in the morning and then went on an exploration of our new neighborhood. Noah threw a terrible fit–screaming, crying, flailing, and my walking about 20 yards ahead of him–because I said it was time to head back to our house, so the neighborhood was introduced to us, too. I think the most embarrassing part was walking past the golfers.
Thursday–We started school early. I started laundry. Then I noticed water everywhere in the back bathroom. Apparently, we carry a plumbing curse. Both bathrooms were depositing water everywhere because I decided to do some laundry. The plumbers came to fix everything while we were at music lessons. Everything is fixed. The good thing is that we don’t have to leave! A sweet friend brought dinner to us tonight. It was delicious!!! I was so grateful to not have to cook. I think the running around of the last couple of weeks is catching up with me–I am feeling exhausted.
Friday–we are going to co-op today. I think we’ve missed the last two weeks, so it will be good to hand out with our friends and learn some stuff.
Our home-owners insurance is going to cover the repairs at our house. The contractors are going to start working Monday morning. Yay!!
Praise the LORD for taking care of us this week!!
