Lift Your Voice


Should We Really Call it a “Quiet” Time? encouraged me today to lift my voice and actually talk to “the God who is there, who is not silent, who listens, and who acts, [and begin] to deal with him person-to-person.”

    I saw that post linked on girltalk and then on Challies and read it with great interest. One thing that has really helped me in fighting distraction in prayer and Bible reading is to do either aloud, even just a whisper (particularly when everyone else is asleep).

    Wow, you read that yesterday, too! I was greatly encouraged, and I think it will (and maybe should) even make some people uncomfortable as so many of us are not accustomed to praying outloud.
