I feel like I need to check-in and let you know that I’m still here.
Does anyone else put pressure on themselves to blog every day like I do? I hope not. The last couple of weeks I’ve been telling myself that I don’t have to blog every single day. It’s become an exercise in self-control for me now. The urge to sit and write is strong, however, I know when I need to step away from the computer for a while. Thus, the self-imposed blogging fast. Don’t worry — I’ll definitely be writing out my thoughts on chapter 2 of The Excellent Wife on Friday! I am realizing, though, that if I’m going to be an excellent wife, then I have to rework my to-do list.
In other news…
- we are having some trees cut down in our front yard. This should be fun!
- I am really enjoying my new kitchen floor
- laundry is much more fun for me since having our pipes repaired
- Spring is here!
- we joined a church (I know — finally!)
- Karl is getting ready to go to his office.
- He just walked by with his last pair of clean dress pants and announced that he’s getting close to the “emergency” underwear.
- see third bullet
Have a great Wednesday!!

Blessings on you as you workout your priorities. It is wonderful when things work right. That’s great that you’ve settled into a church. My married kids are still searching, searching, searching! So frustrating…

You are a wise woman! Blogging, like anything, can be a wonderful pursuit, but can also consume us. Look forward to Friday!

I know what you mean, sister! I’m struggling to find the balance. I don’t have much to write about these days, but I love to read other blogs, and that’s time consuming. I’m trying to come up with a limit on blogging (writing & reading) that will enable me to be an excellent wife.Looking forward to Friday!

Glad to see you are thinking through some of the pulls on our time…it is a constant evaluation to see if what we are doing is best at glorifying God and is meeting the needs of others. It sounds like you have a lot going on right now!I want to hear about the church…email me if you can sometime!

Hi Leslie, a friend and I were just talking about this very thing. After reading chapter one of the The Excellent Wife, my first thought was that I have to re-organize my days and my priorities. I’m going to be putting my thoughts on my blog a bit later, but I just wanted to say thanks for sharing this. I looked at my daily schedule this afternoon and could see where I fit in and where my children fit in, but where did my husband fit in 😦
