Sorry about the lack of activity and fresh reading material around here. I haven’t been feeling well this week.
Yesterday was my birthday and I had to spend part of it in the doctor’s office. Now, that’s just not right.
Today, because my well-self signed up and paid over two weeks ago, I have to take my sick-self and my children to the zoo. Benjamin isn’t feeling well, either. And there is some severe weather heading our way today. It should be a great day to visit the zoo.
If I had to make the decision right now, I wouldn’t go.
There’s a lesson here about making plans and boasting that I’m going to do this or that. There’s also a lesson about doing what you said you were going to do and trusting the Lord. I said we’d be there. Lord willing (see I’m learning!), we’re going to be there.
If you’re reading, please say a little prayer for us.
Phone call as we’re heading out the door: Zoo trip is canceled due to inclement weather. Now I just have four very disappointed kids.

Happy Belated Birthday to you!! So sorry you were at my least favorite place to celebrate :(There’s something I’ve learned over these many years here on this earth and here’s my encouragement to you…when you feel all better go out and celebrate your birthday in small and big ways. Don’t worry that the actual day got flubbed up! And I am saying a prayer for your day at the zoo…

Ouch, Leslie. I can “hear” the disappointment on all parts. Sorry to hear that your sick self is getting hit on more than one thing. Happy Belated Birthday, and hope that the day will turn around. Maybe an inside trip for four kids and a mom to an ice cream shop? Sure works around here for us.

Happy Birthday! I hope you can rest and feel better soon. I know how it gets when Mom is sick – me and the girls got strep AGAIN last week!

Happy late birthday. Hope you’ll all be better soon.See how the Lord took care of that zoo trip for you? I know the kids are disappointed…maybe you can have a living room camp-out or something to boost their spirits.

Praying for you to feel better soon. How ’bout a trip to the library for a stack of DVDs for this rainy sick day – with a drive-thru Mcdonald’s sundae? That should take a bit of the sting out of a missed adventure.

Sorry you’re not feeling well – and sorry about the zoo trip.Last week my husband commented that this week would be at work all week this week (he has had to take lots of days off lately). I quickly said, “Lord willing.” Guess what? He missed work Tuesday because he was sick.
