Hodgepodge — another bulleted post

  • So, yesterday our trip to the zoo was canceled because of a severe weather threat.
  • The kids were really disappointed.
  • You guys really came through with some good ideas. The problem is that I didn’t get to read them until much later in the afternoon. I’ll have to use them next time we have a field trip rained-out.
  • Since the tornadoes and thunderstorms wouldn’t be here until the afternoon, I decided to take the kids to our local children’s museum for a couple of morning hours. One new feature they’ve added to the museum is a wall-sized, velcro tic-tac-toe board with giant Xs and Os. That was really fun!You can see pictures from our last trip here. We all did pretty much the same thing.
  • After a yummy lunch, the kids and I slept through the thunderstorms. Sleep was the best thing for me.
  • Hannah performed well in her flute recital last night. I have video evidence. Do you want to see it? Did I mention that she figured out “Happy Birthday” on her flute? She played it just for me on my birthday.
  • Karl and I watched LOST. Have mercy!
  • I finished a few books this week. I can’t wait to tell you about them. Lydia Brownback has written a couple of excellent devotionals. <a href="http://www.wtsbooks.com/product-exec/product_id/5607/nm/Contentment_A_Godly_Woman_s_Adornment_On_The_Go_Devotionals_Paperback_/?utm_source= lwiggins&utm_medium= lwiggins

“>one on trust. I highly recommend both of them.

  • I’m only sorry that I didn’t read them with enough time for you to buy some up for all the mothers in your life for Mother’s Day.
  • The other one I finished is Mistaken Identity. You bloggers may recall in 2006 when Whitney Cerak was mistaken as Laura Van Ryn, and the families didn’t realize it until five weeks after the car accident. The whole thing played out on the Van Ryn blog. Well, the families wrote a book about the whole experience. It is unbelievable.
  • The Excellent Wife post for chapter 7 is coming.

  1. I didn’t know you were a LOST fan too! Ditto the ‘have mercy’!
