I have really missed writing every day. So, I’m just going to go for it and get back into the habit of writing a little something for my blog every day.
Of all the hobbies I’ve tried, blogging is the one that has not cost my husband a penny. It almost cost him a little something when I was wanting a new design last year. But a sweet lady who designs blogs gave me a make-over out of the goodness of her heart. I still don’t know what made her do that, but I’ll take a “free” anything.
I have read and learned as much as I want to know about web design. I’ve spent many hours playing on my “test” blog, learning to use photo editing software, writing code, shopping different hosting sites, debating whether or not to buy my own domain, etc. That is just too much of my life spent fretting over my blog. Finally, in over two years of blogging, I’ve learned two important things:
- A blog’s content is more important than its appearance.
- A faithful reader probably subscribes and reads my posts through a feed, which means he or she doesn’t “see” the blog anyway.
- I like to write. I need to leave the designing to someone else.
Speaking of hobbies and pennies, I bet you didn’t know that my husband collects coins. It makes no sense to me to spend money on money, but Karl enjoys it. And I have learned to be a good wife by smiling and looking at coins with him when he wants me to. They’re so shiny! I’ve also learned a little bit about the history of America’s currency.
The mailman brought us the 2008 Proof Set today: a set of five new state quarters; a set including the 2008 penny, nickel, dime, half dollar, and Sacagawea dollar; and a set of five new presidential $1 coins.
And I just want you to know that Bobby Flay is most definitely NOT on the 2008 nickel.
Not even if you look at it from an angle.
