The Palins and their church family

UPDATE: I did a little (very little) digging around the internet. I don’t think the following email is accurate. According to this Fox News report, Palin’s home church is called Wasilla Bible Church and the pastor is Larry Kroon.

I’m a member of a ning group called Writer…Interrupted. One of my “friends” (you know how those social networks are), Keith Hobkirk sent this to our group:

“Among leaders who lack insight,
abuse abounds, but for one who hates
corruption, the future is bright”
Proverbs 28:16
Please pray for Sarah Palin
and her Church

Our pastor here in Bigfork, Montana, Hal Curtis, is friends with the pastor of Sarah Palin’s pastor in Wasilla, Alaska. His name is David Pepper and the church is Full Gospel Church of Wasilla, Alaska.
Three days before Governor Palin was announced by John McCain as his choice for VP, she came before her pastor to be annointed and prayed over for service to God. She didn’t tell the church what was going on … just that she needed their prayer support.
During the few days since the announcement, the pastor and the church have been bombarded with questions from the media. They are trying to get the word out to Christians all over the nation to pray for God’s protection of Sarah Palin and of their church.
They suspect that the treatment of Jeremiah Wright will pale in comparison to what is coming their way as a conservative Christian body.
When the little Down’s Syndrome baby of Todd and Sarah Palin was dedicated a few months ago, their statement to the congregation was:

“This little boy is
our pro-life statement.”

According to David Pepper, Todd and Sarah are very strong in their faith in Jesus Christ and believe God has put them in this position to serve Him.
Let’s remember to pray for Governor Palin and her family as they walk through this very trying time!

Thank you so much!
Vicky Creamerps

Please pass this request
on to other prayer warriors!

I do not know if this is legit, but I do know that it won’t hurt a bit to pray for the Palins. We all know how “fair” the media can be.

And I got another email from a woman named Heather who wants to add a little different perspective to this email:

(and a P.S. from me…Heather…could we all stop for a moment, and take a breath, while we get maybe another perspective here? Could we not also view this as a huge opportunity from God to let Him shine thru us with His tender love and reach those who otherwise would not be reached…(instead of us thinking it’s a huge attack on us from the enemy?) And can we use these times to ask God to take us even deeper into Him (and His peace) to realize that we are the victors thru Him and not the victims! (Think of Daniel in the lion’s den! This total peace and absolute authority is available for each of us too!)
Paul “counted it all joy” to be experiencing trials. Perhaps we can all ask God to take us to where that understanding is!
And dear Lord…help each of us to remember that You are truly in control!
Nothing here is surprising You. Please take Your people to a higher vision of what You are doing here…and draw us all into a closer, more intimate walk with You, dear loving Heavenly Father…so our trust will deepen in You…Almighty Creator and Ruler of the Universe! In Jesus’ name…Amen)
