“And he said to them, ‘I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. For I tell you I will not eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.'”
Those verses caused me to stop and consider how earnestly Jesus desires even now to have all of his family gathered together for a meal. I meditated on several verses that describe how Jesus himself will pull out a chair for me (‘I have a chair at his table,’ is a delightful thought!), serve and anoint me. We will feast together and enjoy unhindered fellowship. Then, I realized, as I sat at the table — my patio table — that Jesus was already engaged in serving and filling me through His Word. That was a delightful moment.
