Just what is geocaching?

The joke is that geocachers are people who use multi-billion dollar military defense satellites to find tupperware in the woods.

I guess when you get down to brass tacks that’s true. But geocaching really is more than simply searching for tupperware and tiny slips of paper. Geocaching can mean lots of things depending on the geocache, but it’s always an adventure.

Geocaching can mean:

– rock-climbing (and tree climbing)rock climbing

– long hikeslong hikes

– stepping through historyhistory

– learning about the earthearthcache

– touring interesting citiesbealle street

– and making new friendsfriends

Geocaching can also be quite romantic. But I’ll save that for another day…
