My aim for the day

“‘I do this thing for God, not for success in the work, or for happiness in my soul or for anything else. I am here for God.’

Life is grandly simple when the spirit of calculating results and consequences, even spiritual results and consequences, has been left among the things that are behind, when obedience is the one thing that matters, when God Himself, and no mere “experience,” is our exceeding great reward.”

~ Lilias Trotter (1853-1928), missionary to the Arab people of North Africa

Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Colossians 3:17

  1. “…when God Himself, and no mere “experience,” is our exceeding great reward.”Lord help me to have that spirit.

  2. What a great quote. May I have that attitude. How I need to have that attitude. Thanks for sharing that today.

  3. There’s no better aim possible. May God help us to keep that in mind today. And every day.

  4. This sounds like the best kind of aim. One that we should all have..

  5. “…in everything giving thanks.” I failed miserably at that today. Sigh. I need to start again tomorrow. It was just one of “those” days….
