Encouraging myself for housekeeping and motherhood today

Psalm 113 was part of my devotional reading today.

Praise the Lord!
Praise, O servants of the Lord,
praise the name of the Lord!

Blessed be the name of the Lord
from this time forth and forevermore!
From the rising of the sun to its setting,
the name of the Lord is to be praised!

The Lord is high above all nations,
and his glory above the heavens!
Who is like the Lord our God,
who is seated on high,
who looks far down
on the heavens and the earth?
He raises the poor from the dust
and lifts the needy from the ash heap,
to make them sit with princes,
with the princes of his people.
He gives the barren woman a home,
making her the joyous mother of children.
Praise the Lord!

God has given me a home and four children. Praise the Lord! Right? It does not honor the Lord if I go about my tasks joylessly. I want to be that joyous mother today.

  1. I’m just wondering right now if He will raise the dust from the poor because I’ve got a lot of it right now. heehee

  2. I could kiss you! That’s exactly how I”m feeling today! Like I haven’t had the joy that I’ve been needing in my home. May God grant us His grace to be joyful, even in the “hard” jobs….

  3. I am really overwhelmed with all things domestic right now, too. Homeschooling, cleaning, cooking…and on and on. I am just really needing to adjust to this new schedule better….so thanks for the scripture. 😉

  4. Thanks for the reminder to go about the day joyfully. I needed it. I want to be that kind of joyous mother, too.
