Finding Delight — Week 5

,

1 Corinthians 15 delighted me this week. It did me good to think deeply about the resurrection of Jesus Christ and my death and resurrection. God’s omnipotence and the reality of resurrection fills me with hope and encourages my faith. What is there for me to fear if I believe Christ was raised and, therefore, I will rise?

I thought about the meanings of words like perishable, corruptible, and mortal. How wonderful to know that the imperishable, incorruptible, and immortal are in the future — even my future. The Gospel is good news indeed!

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:58

  1. Those really are such wonderful words and thoughts to dwell on, the reality that this life is not the real “life,” and that there is hope beyond my decaying body. It makes me glad. (And I hope to post a link here at some point today!)
