January Book Give Away — Autobiographies

I have three books to give away:

The Last Lecture

Pausch has some good, practical things to share in his book, The Last Lecture, but I felt like, in a book written to his children regarding the most important lessons he’s learned, he ought to have included something about his faith.  It’s still an enjoyable read. (Hardback)

Mistaken Identity

You may recall this big news story from 2006: Laura Van Ryn and Whitney Cerak were mistaken for one another after a tragic accident. It’s both heartbreaking and hopeful. You will be encouraged by the faith of these two families and how they were able to share their joy and sorrow. Grab a box of tissue. (Hardback)

Practical Theology for Women

You may think this one doesn’t fit in with autobiography, but you’d be incorrect. Wendy Alsup shares how knowing sound theology helped her get through some of the most difficult trials of her life.  Good stuff. (Paperback)

I apologize to my international friends, Hawaiians and Alaskans, but I’m going to have to limit this give away to the contiguous 48 states.  While Hubs is happy to see my thinning out of the book shelves, he would not be pleased with the shipping charges to those distant lands.

    1. If you’re back in Taiwan before I ship, then I’ll let you pay shipping. 🙂 But mid-Feb should be enough time for the books to make it to you in the states (I’ll ship them Jan. 22).

  2. I admit that I am a subscriber. I admit that I follow you on Twitter. I also admit that I’m still figuring out the re-tweet stuff. I’ll try. And I admit all this sounds like I’m a raving Alabamenagerie fan. I’ll even admit I’d love to live in AL. Closer to get those 3 entries, but also just b/c I like the state. Okay, that’s all I’ve got to admit. I’ll try to blog this on Wed. I hiatus Mon-Tues.

  3. I just subscribed. Your updates will be sent to my google reader. I need your blog as I have decided to read more books this year. Yeah, I normally don’t do New Year’s resolutions, but I actually needed one this year. I’ve seen the Dateline special on Whitney and [the other girl]. It’s facinating. I wouldn’t mind winning “Practical Theology.”
