With this birthday, I begin embarking on the uncharted “I AM THE PARENT OF A TEEN” waters. I have a sinking feeling that most of what I learned in adolescent developmental theory will be about as helpful as everything I learned about the other stages of child development. Research and observation are one thing, parenting is another. Please don’t tell my little guinea pig that I don’t know what I’m doing.
I’m right behind you. Anna will be 12 in two weeks, then I also will have the distinction of being the parent of an almost-teenager. Kinda scary, isn’t it? 🙂

Praying for you! Yes, I pray God’s grace all over my first born – I don’t know what I’m doing either!

I feel your pain – embarked on this journey myself when my girl turned 12 in October. I’m afraid to say, it hasn’t been pretty ;-(
